From Tralee to Dublin: Road Trip, Papa John's, and a Pit Stop at Barack Obama Plaza

Road trips with kids can be a gamble - a mix of snacks, sibling negotiations, and constant navigation checks. But every once in a while, you hit the jackpot: a smooth drive, no meltdowns, and a pit stop that actually makes everyone happy.

On our way from Tralee to Dublin, we made a planned stop at the famous Barack Obama Plaza in Moneygall. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s part rest stop, part cultural landmark - and for us, it was exactly what we needed. Notice Carmela’s new pullover (Go Kerry!)

The kids were in charge of choosing lunch (with some gentle parental guidance, of course), and to our surprise, they made quick, unanimous decisions: Papa John’s pizza and water all around. No arguments, no sugar crashes - just happy little travelers with pizza boxes in hand.

We stretched our legs, grabbed some coffee, took in the quirky charm of the plaza, and got back on the road feeling refreshed and surprisingly well-fed. In the world of family travel, we’re calling that a successful pit stop.
